This is an excellent book with a comprehensive overview of all beading techniques, heck, all things beading that is. It's a must have for beginners and honestly it's a valuable reference for me still at least once a week and I've been beading for years. All my other jewelry books get cycled through on my shelves etc., this book? I own digitally and it sits above my craft table too.
From what I've seen of this book, it's a great starting point or even something to give more experienced beaders tip, tricks, and reminders. HOWEVER, the kindle format is very difficult to navigate. You don't have a table of content so you can skip to the things you are interested in and the first chapter of the book has had every thing separated to where there is only one topic on the page versus many (look at example of first chapter in printed book versus first chapter in kindle example). That's to much page turning to find what you need.
There was a few helpful pages but I can’t say I found this book all that helpful. For a book to be called a bible I thought it would cover a lot more techniques.
This is the one to get if you want a "ton" of information. It has so much in here & I want to do all of it at once.I think if I had to get & or use one book this is the one for me! I wanted to get a book that showed how to uselooms, this shows many types & more. Not only is this geared toward the large beads it also is geared to the smallseed beads. Would definitely recommend.
This book should be in every beaders library. It covers making eight different beading techniques. It is concise and easy to understand.Each chapter teaches the actual technique along with the tools needed and the recommended supplies. Each technique is explained and has excellent photographs and diagrams to help you learn them. There are also tips and hints included.There are 30 projects in the "Bead Something Now" chapter so you can put your skills to work.I highly recommend this book to the experienced beader as well as the beginner.
I have just started loom beading and want to try using seed beads and semi-precious stones of various sizes. While the book recommends and focuses primarily on using same-size beads, it is the first book I have found that offers information into looming with multi-sized beads. It is also a good source for string size recommendations. This book is quite helpful addressing looming (on- and off- loom) techniques and offerring finishing suggestions. Overall, this is a very useful book and I recommend adding it to your beading library!
Photos are uselessly tiny and low res. Returning and ordering the paperback instead.
This is a really good book. The lists of items needed for each project, the clear, multi-colored pattern illustrations, and the close-up photos of the actual work in progress make this a great book for beginners and more experienced beaders learning new tricks. Also, the wide range of stitch instructions, including knitting and crocheting with beads, means I will always be using this book to learn more, or refresh my memory.The Beader's Bible would be perfect if it had about 20 more pages of project patterns, but I guess you can't have everything!
A solid intro to different kinds of beading. I mostly do bead weaving on a loom, so there wasn't as much in this for me as I'd like. But Wood might just tempt me into trying some new things.
