There is no plot. This is a book of English fairy tales. Reprint of the original. I do want to say here that the flow of print on the pages does not flow at all as if they just set the printer on "go". The illustrations look like xeroxed copies and are quite gray and blurry. Was disappointed in this purchase.
I'm really impressed with the quality of this edition. The quality of the hardback is sturdy. The pages are thick. The print is beautiful. The illustrations are excellent. At a time when so many classics compromise on quality for profit, this edition is outstanding. I'm hoping for more English authors like Chesterton, Dickens, William Morris, etc to be published like this. There's a large quantity of low quality editions out there. I would really like an edition of Irish literature and poetry like this one.

Very well-made, heavy book of obviously high quality. Many black and white illustrations with a few full-page coloured pictures. I expected Calla Editions to package these books better.

A must read! I've been a fan of English Fairy Tales because my mom used to read some of them to me before I go to sleep when I was a kid. Kinda helps me remember her.
My husband is English and I bought this for our children to learn from his culture. He was impressed with the selection and we all enjoy the stories.
