Some people say, "We need a Bishop Sheen for today!" Not really: This book, written in 1947, could have been written in 2017! You'll find that it discusses problems with politics, power, secularization, gender confusion and melding, and many other current issues that trouble our society and our Church. These disturbing trends were already evident to Bishop Sheen only a couple of years after the end of WWII.
I gave this to a Priest and he enjoyed it very very much! All of Bishop sheen's books areso to the point and with his humor thrown in...makes for a joyful reading/praying time,God bless, Charity and Grace

This little book is just great for Lenten reflection. Bishop Sheen details the actions of various people (Judas, Pilate, etc.) within the Passion narrative, illuminating aspects of their personalities and behavior I'd never noticed before. I revisit the chapter on Peter over and over again! After reading this delightful book, I bought copies for many of my loved ones!
Such a good, concise book! Fulton Sheen is always easy to read and he draws lots of parallels that make his point beautifully! His writing has also inspired me to read more of his books and listen to his talks and has brought me a lot closer to Christ and my faith!
Beautiful and inspiring book written by Bishop Sheen. Highly recommend. While some references might be considered dated today it is still a timeless read.
Written with Bishop Sheen's usual poetic style and wonderful insights, he takes the characters of The Passion and shows how they are archetypes for all humanity. It's an essential read, and shorter than most his works.
Its almost a study into the character and perspective of those who played an important part in Jesus at the end of His life.
